Monick Yards in Sioux Falls recently opened and it is absolutely gorgeous. If you are looking for a wedding venue downtown Sioux Falls that offers industrial and modern features, look no further. This 350 person capacity venue offers two large spaces, two bridal party rooms, and two bars.
I recently had the opportunity to attend a styled shoot at Monick Yards hosted by Nikayla and Co. Check out some of the beautiful images I captured and read some helpful tips for choosing your wedding venue.
Tips for choosing your wedding venue
When choosing your wedding venue, it’s so important to look at multiple features about the space. If you are getting ready at the venue, you will want to see the designated getting ready area prior to booking your date. The white bridal party room at Monick Yards is a photographers dream. This room is so simplistic and and full of natural light. These are both very important when choosing where you are going to get ready on your wedding day. Finding a space that is simplistic will elevate the photos of you getting ready. When there are less distractions, it keeps your photos feeling more elegant. Making sure the space has ample natural light will also give your images a more authentic and pleasing look. It is truly a great Sioux Falls wedding venue.

If you are getting ready in your home or a family members home, consider using a space that has ample window lighting, such as, a living room or dining room area. You may want to consider moving/rearranging furniture to create a simplistic look. Using areas such as bathrooms or bedrooms can sometimes be small, cramped, and dark.

Here are some things to consider when choosing your wedding venue.
- Does your space have ample room for your guests or are you limited to how many guests you can invite?
- Are you able to choose your own caterer or do you have to use the venue’s caterer?
- Are you able to use your own decorator?
- Is the venue available on the date you need? Booking your venue and your photographer early are two of the biggest aspects of your wedding. Both book up very fast.
- Is your venue close to hotels for your guests? Or is there a way to get your guests to their hotel safely?
