Lost Dutchman State Park Elopement
I’m still dreaming about this elopement at Lost Dutchman State Park with Blanca + Tyler! It was the perfect Arizona elopement filled with cacti, mountain backdrops + a stunning sunset.
Arizona Elopement at Lost Dutchman
Nothing beats an Arizona elopement in the spring! It was the perfect weather for this elopement at Lost Dutchman State Park and we had the best time exploring this stunning area. We had a gorgeous sunset and were able to capture some breathtaking blue hour photos with the rocks as a backdrop.
The bride had on some incredible cowboy boots that perfectly fit the vibe of a desert elopement. The florals included some unique blooms in the shades of the surroundings that were absolutely gorgeous! I love that they made a statement, but still perfectly fit the location. On top of just the florals, the head table had beautiful details with the simplistic glassware, gold silverware, and black candlesticks. These all created a romantic ambiance surrounded by the natural vegetation.
Planning for a Lost Dutchman State Park Elopement
Lost Dutchman State Park has exactly what you’d want for an Arizona elopement: plenty of cacti, desert plant life, dramatic mountains, and the stunning golden sunsets. It is such a beautiful place to explore and it creates a stunning backdrop for an elopement!
Here are a few things to keep in mind to ensure you have the perfect elopement at Lost Dutchman:
- It’s an easy-access location. It’s a short walk to many of the spots within the park that you’d want to use for your elopement, so there’s no hiking involved! This means you can wear your elopement attire initially, without worrying about a change of clothes.
- There are jumping cacti, so be aware! We learned this early on and they can be pretty painful. So to avoid this ruining your day, be sure to know ahead of time which cacti to avoid and wear some closed-toe shoes just in case.
- Be prepared if you have allergies. If you’re like me and deal with allergies, you definitely want to take a Benadryl before going here so you can feel your best for your elopement!
- Give yourself time. I would plan for at least two hours so you can give yourself plenty of time to do a variety of images. You will face different directions before and after the sun sets, so having that extra time to capture more photos will work best!
- Choose the right time of year! Spring was a perfect time of year for an elopement here, as the heat hadn’t started yet but it was also just warm enough. You will want to completely avoid the summer months, which can last from May until September, or even into October. If you want to completely avoid crowds and the heat, you can even opt for a sunrise elopement instead!
